Solitary cecal ulcer - case report and treatment options according to literature review

Introduction. Solitary cecal ulcer is a benign and extremely rare disease, as less than 300 cases have been reported so far. The etiology unknown, it can be diagnosed by pathohistological examination. Often presented an acute abdomen rectal bleeding, mock various important urgent conditions. Treatment protocol not defined. Extensive radical surgeries are often performed due to this disease mimic. Our aim was indicate present the treatment of condition, facilitate plan for disease. Case outline. Female, aged 67, admitted Emergency Department with clinical manifestation appendicitis. surgery indicated after following diagnostic tests. intraoperative finding revealed on cecum, which sutured. patient fully recovered, subsequent colonoscopy findings solitary ulcer. Conclusion. It possible treat condition retaining organ avoiding major surgery. Therefore, our opinion that might provide significant assistance clinicians in similar situation. Hence, undoubtedly interesting case archiving, especially since such has recorded country yet.
